Directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi, Naoyuki Ito …
Synopsis
A mysterious organization known as Panther Claw make their presence known by terrorizing Tokyo and giving the cops a run for their money. Police are further baffled by the appearance of a lone cosplaying vigilante who thwarts all of Panther Claw's evil schemes before disappearing. That cosplayer is Honey Kisaragi, the result of the late Professor Kisaragi's prize experiment. A master of disguise, Honey can instantly alter her physical appearance and outfits. But with a push of the heart-shaped button on her choker, she transforms herself into Cutie Honey, the scantily clad, sword-wielding warrior of love and justice.

just a big tiddy superhero android girlboss building her empire with her partner in crime who is her butch girlfriend and their himbo best friend who is actually really badass and cute and yeah, i cried while i was writing this, lgbtiq+ community, WAKE THE FUCK UP AND WATCH THIS WHAT THE HELL THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER????
no but seriously! this was so entertaining and heartwarming. its absurdness was on the right level and i was hooked the whole time. last episode was the best or it's just me being biased because it's anno's episode. overall, it was really fun and you know what, empowering!honey fucking flash, indeed!

*whispers* You know that Go Nagai creation from the seventies that was mainly designed to see a single frame of breasts when the titular character changed form? Well, what if we got to see her... *lowers voice further* naked... a lot? Nothing below the waist, of course. That'll be totally smooth because... Japan.
Released in conjunction with Anno's live-action feature, this three-part OVA is notable for having three very different directors helm each part, which gives them all different vibes - with the first part (my favourite) being helmed by Hiroyuki Imaishi (PROMARE), which means it's a hyper-stylized gumbo of wild camera angles and action, the second part is by Naoyuki Itou and is conventionally early 2000s, and the last…

It does pretty much everything you'd want from the premise 'bubbly frequently nude lesbian android has anime fights while growing closer to tetchy supercompetent detective woman' stuffed into three episodes.
The last episode was also very Directed By Hideaki Anno.

This felt like how anime is sometimes protrayed in western cartoons: a fever dream of bright colors, flashing lights and lots of nudity. And it was really fun.

Hiroyuki Imaishi 1/5
"Not as a God or a Demon... Live your life as a human being."Happy Pride Month friends! This review is going to require some qualifying... So when I envisioned this director project, I thought it'd be neat to include contemporaries in the anime sphere. Especially those that had worked on at least one feature. Seeing as Trigger is one of my favorite studios, I figured Hiroyuki Imaishi was a shoe in. For those who don't know, Imaishi is one of the cofounders of Trigger. My way of thinking has always been that the seed for their style germinated in the work Imaishi did at Gainax. In house at Gainax it could be attributed somewhat to…

Love to human beings!
A tale of three vastly different episodes being combined into one anime miniseries. At the beginning, you have the full mayhem of Hiroyuki Imaishi on full display, a director infamous for his frenetic style of anime pushing himself to the very edge of sensory overload. The first episode nearly plays as a parody of the medium, more moving colors and jiggle physics than I could even attempt to keep track of. It's very messy but so brazen that I can't help but feel like most anyone who would try watching it could at least admire the effort. (You haven't lived until you've met Penisman and Ballsman.) It's crass, it's colorful, and it's about clothes and vengeance,…

LOVE ❤️ TO THE PEOPLE! 👨👩👧👦
WARRIOR ⚔️OF LOVE, CUTIE HONEY! 💕Bimbofied Sailor Moon for sexual fetishists! Never knew I needed something as badly as Hideaki Anno doing kinky hyper-feminine camp, but adapting Go Nagai in animated form gets him to let loose a little bit. Such a bold and effervescent tonal shift from the darkest depths of Evangelion and his live action forays into humanist dramas, yet undeniably his vision. You can also see the genesis ofKill la Kill, Panty and Stocking, and Promare here for Imaishi, who pairs so well with Anno.
